The Joan is named after my grandmother Joan R. Brewster who plied the waters of the granite maine coast in search of Osprey well into her 80’s. Famous for her strapped on binoculars, tied down hat and her perfectly packed picnic of lettuce and crab sandwiches-she was not to be deterred from her adventure afloat.
I learned to row in the Joan, sitting opposite my grandfather with my hands on his hands on the oars. I still remember the sound of the oarlocks with every stroke. It was my only request of the estate-the rowboat.
Carefully lofted, patterned and crafted with especially sourced sustainable wood and all the right details down to the rope rail rubs.
Each Joan is made by hand and bespoke by order. Inquire about your Joan, and rejoin the world of art, craftsmanship and timeless elegance that true boats can provide.
